Abstract

3D printing is continuing to claim its place in the history of manufacturing. Due to the traits of personalized and diversified design, it has become a research direction in the development field of many fields at present, but manufacturing precision and strength still need to be improved. This paper systematically reviews the relevant research literature in recent years and provides the policy-making enterprise and academic community with the recent application scenarios, technical characteristics, development trends and obstacles of 3D printing in the toy industry. Evidence suggests that 3D printing is disrupting traditional toy production, revolutionizing production methods and business models by way of personalisation, rapid prototyping and educational uses of the technology. In this study, based on the four dimensions of technological basis, current deployment, future development and challenges, a comprehensive analysis is performed to provide a theoretical reference for the further development of the industry. The findings offer valuable insights for stakeholders aiming to leverage additive manufacturing to drive sustainable innovation and competitive advantage in the toy sector.
